Emily Avery (nee Worsnop)
"“I first opened CARM Therapies in 2003 so that I could help people to feel their best. Over the years my interest in chronic pain has taken me down many paths, including varied approaches to soft tissue therapies, neuroplasticity education, and movement therapies. I believe that education is the key to not only understanding, but in overcoming many of the issues that lead to long term pain and discomfort in our lives.”"
Emily completed her first massage course in 1999, going on to study full time for 2.5years to complete an Advanced Diploma in Applied Science – Remedial Massage at The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) in 2002. Since then, she has completed post graduate certificates in many areas of soft tissue therapy, including Dry Needling, Kinesio Taping, and Advanced Pregnancy Massage.
Emily is also a certified Practitioner of Rehabilitation Pilates through Polestar Education, and runs Semi-Private Equipment based Pilates classes from the CARM Therapies clinic for some of her chronic pain/condition clients.
Emily is currently studying a Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Strategic Psychotherapy through the Institute of Applied Psychology and is looking forward to being able to incorporate her years of working with chronic pain conditions into a whole new modality of helping people. More information about Hypnosis and Chronic Pain to come - watch this space!
In her spare time (lol!), Emily enjoys hiking and camping in exotic locations, taking long naps, and chilling out with her dogs and cat while watching some questionable quality TV shows!
Emily has closed her books for massage clients.

Erica Langtry
""
Originally from Sydney, Erica moved to Canberra in 2017 and graduated from her Bachelor of Health Science (Myotherapy) in 2018.
Erica's choice to pursue a career in manual therapy stemmed from her needing to be treated for her own pain during her teenage years. It was during these years that she was educated on how her movement patterns were influencing her discomfort and she thinks of these conversations as the catalyst for her choice to become a Myotherapist.
Erica's studies provided her with the skills necessary to treat an array of conditions using skills such as remedial massage, myofascial cupping, dry needling, muscle energy techniques, joint mobilisation and neuromobility techniques.
Erica does not have a particular complaint she prefers to work with and is capable of treating anything from general aches and pains to helping those who are struggling to improve their quality of movement.
In her free time you can find Erica trying to get out to explore with her husband and kids or working on her own functional strength and fitness.
